UPCPMT  The Government of Uttar Pradesh  has authorized U.P. King Georges University of Dental Sciences, Lucknow to conduct Combined Pre-Medical Test 2006, for admission to MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS and BUMS courses running in various Government Colleges and for admission to state competent authority quota of private colleges in the state of U.P. Allotment of seats in the above mentioned courses in the different colleges of the state is done by the counseling board under the Chairmanship of the Director General of Medical Education & Training, U.P., Lucknow
 
 
 
 
 
Eligibility
1. Age : - The candidate should not have been born later than December 31,1989.
2. Educational Qualifications: - The candidate must have passed the intermediate examination of the state board in the Science group (physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany) with English as one of the subjects/(10+2) or other equivalent Examination of some other recognized Board/University in U.P. with 50% average marks in the science subjects (for general category candidates) and 40% for OBC/SC/ST candidates.

1. For admissions to BAMS course the candidates passing Madhyama examination of Sampurnanand Sanskrit University, Varanasi are also eligible.
2. For admissions to BUMS the candidate passing Madhyama examination in Urdu at High School or equivalent level.
3. For admissions to to MBBS/BDS courses, the eligibility conditions will be as specified by the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India.

The candidates appearing in the qualifying examination in the year 2006 are also eligible, but they will have to produce the evidence of passing the examination at the time of counseling, if selected.
Reservation:

In all Medical/BDS Colleges in all courses, seats to be filled through CPMT-2006 are reserved as per policy of U.P. Government: 27% for OBC, 21% for SC and 2% for ST candidate. For candidates seeking admission to the Uttranchal seats the reservation will be 14% for OBC. 19% for SC and 4% for ST candidates.
A horizontal reservation of 20% to the Women candidates (WC), 3% to physically handicapped (PH), 2% to Dependants of Freedom Fighters (FF), 2% to the son/daughter of Ex-serviceman (Handicapped in war, Retired or Martyrs)(ES)(for U.P. candidates only), 2% to the son/daughter of Ex-army Personnel (EA)(for Uttranchal seats only).
 
 
 
 
COUNSELING PROCEDURE
 
:  Soon after declaration of CPMT-2006 results, candidates found eligible for counseling are required to exercise their initial choices of courses and institutions through Internet from places of their convenience. The candidates may contact the nearby Counseling Centers (CC) for availing the Internet facility free of charge.

A candidate has to log on to the website and click ‘off-campus’ counseling button on the home page.

Login and password prompts will appear on the computer screen. Using the instructions given on the screen, candidate is required to enter the login ID and password for which admit card would be required.

The procedure for exercising choices or seeking other information is menu driven. It guides the candidates through appropriate messages on the computer screen.

Information relating to institutions, courses (Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Homeopath and Unani) and categories (UPGE/UTGE or UPSC/UTSC or UPBC/UTBC etc.) will be available through each relevant dropdown menu for the purpose of exercising choices as well as for a feel of their competitive standing for their preferred choices among the logged-in candidates.

The name of counseling centre will be displayed on computer screen during Phase-I.

The candidates are permitted to exercise as many choices as they want and, if they so desire, to change their choices, delete earlier choices and add new choices any number of times, based on the information which will appear on the computer screen. The candidates are free to consult their parents, teachers, friends and others for advice during Phase-I. The off-campus counseling will facilitate the selection of the most appropriate institutions and courses at candidates rank and in their categories for submitting their final choices during on-campus counseling.

Choices will be processed and indicative seat allocation will be put on the website at frequent intervals. The dates of next update of indicative seat allocation will be specified on the website.
